Lyam Bandet, president of DWEMER STUDIOS, and Alexandre Monneau, developer of the CLAP application, were chosen by YNOV Paris-Ouest school as judges for the 48 hours of their first and second-year students. This project aims to confront students with a cinematic practice by creating a work in teams within a limited time.
The screening of the short films took place on Friday, January 30, in the large amphitheater of the campus. After a presentation of the actions of DWEMER STUDIOS and its partner CLAP to the students, Lyam Bandet and Alexandre Monneau joined the stands to fulfill their role as judges. The lights went out and the screening began. Eight short films were presented, interspersed with the jury's feedback on the works: encouragement, critiques, and advice given to the students to deepen their mastery of cinema.
The narrative constraint of this 48 hours was that the protagonist had to make a discovery. This constraint led to a multitude of interpretations: comedic, psychological, social... The Audience Award was given to Tellement Faux, a satirical comedy that follows Kevin, convinced he is from the United States, whose extravagant personality is summed up by this presumed belonging, until the discovery of his true origins... Finally, the Jury Award was given to the short film "Hors Cadre", the portrait of a painter freeing herself from her canvas, stopping to see life in black and white to gradually embrace color.
We are delighted to have discovered the work of the students as well as that of the teaching team, and we would like to thank Florence, Yann, and Hugo for opening the campus doors to the association's speakers and for counting them among the jury of the 48h.
